We have a poet 'lurker' on RebelHousewife.com, which is a wonderful thing. So nice, in fact, that I can't leave her beautiful poems as Comments on the Mother's Day and Father's Day blog entries, I am featuring them on their own, here for Father's Day with the attention and comments she so richly deserves -- Thank you, Eve.

To see who our poet lurker is, and to enjoy more of Eve's work, please visit her website at www.evehall.com.

My Dad

Father, you were always there
You always showed me how much you cared.
You were the bread-winner of our family
Now I know how I should be.

You always tucked me in my bed
You kept a roof over my head.
I remember well our family trips
And how you bought me double dips.

You were always firm but, not too bold
You made our house warm not cold.
I love you more than words can say
In my heart you will always stay.

Eve, You poem brought tears to my eyes as I thought of my dear father on Father's Day . My father died 36yrs ago and miss him so much . Lovely memories of Dad and always will carry him in my heart.

Thanks for bringing special memories back into or lives of the people we hold dear to us.

Eve is one poetess and author who has the most wonderful gift of describing a person, place or memory in a few beautiful words. Her talent is unmeasurable and endless and blesses me each time I read her work. She is an illustrator's dream as her writing is explicitly descriptive. Thank you Eve, for sharing this poem with us.

Wow Eve, I think you have brought me to a place where I must renounce my "I don't dig poetry" stance. Thank you!! You are the greatest!!
