THE PERFECT HOUSE
Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 10:53AM
I had to stop in the middle of the street and laugh this morning, when I came back from dropping the kids off at school to see our new For Sale sign (it wasn't there when we went out): Our real estate agent had special-ordered a fancy wood "Bed & Breakfast" type sign to put at the end of our driveway--announcing to the world (and other interested parties)(you know of whom I speak!) that we are OUTTA HERE!
You see these real estate signs all over Atlanta, in the 'nice' neighborhoods, usually broadcasting special features of the home--# of bedrooms/bathrooms, pool, finished basement, or what-not. I came down the street to see:
on almost an acre
Elaborately displayed on this sign in big, bold lettering you can read from the corner (and every other direction, too!).
This is so ironic, for the champion of the anti-Perfection movement...I have to laugh. The house is very nice, no doubt about it, but the whole Perfection/Stepford thing is exactly why we're leaving! It just seems...ironic. But hey, I hope it sells the house--and soon! I had nothing to do with the wording on that one. Our real estate agents (both of them!) are wonderful, and they know this game much better than we do.
So we'll wait it out--in THE PERFECT HOUSE!!!
