Anita Shreve Love Fest
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 12:21PM
It's been another busy day, and I'm happy to have the Rebel Review done for THE TENDER BAR by J.R. Moehringer: "Emotionally powerful..." I really, really enjoyed it!
Speaking of authors and writing, I am so excited to be going to The Margaret Mitchell House/Center for Southern Literature tomorrow night (Wednesday), for a Book Event with Anita Shreve, one of my all-time favorite authors, as I've mentioned before.
There is an interview with Anita Shreve in today's Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC). I am thrilled, and greatly reassured, by Shreve's answer to the first question:
That's just good-to-know writer stuff, right there!
I'm looking forward to Anita Shreve's newest novel: BODY SURFING
(Little, Brown; $25.99)

"Q: You've been on Oprah's Book Club, on the bestseller lists, and have had several movies made of your books. Does that kind of success hurt you or help you when you sit down to write the next novel?"
A: It has no relevance whatsoever. One of the most surprising things about writing is that working on your 14th book is no easier than working on your first or your fifth or your eighth. Every time is like reinventing the wheel..."
